Happy Summer for Belarusian and Ukrainian Children!

All across Europe ECN member organisations have been hosting children for recuperative holidays during the summer. Some of the children are in remission from cancer or other serious illness, others have not had major health problems yet but live in contaminated parts of Belarus or Ukraine. For all the children, four weeks of fresh air and clean food provides a boost to their immune systems and leaves them stronger and healthier for at least the next two years.

Volunteers of various Chernobyl organizations were traveling to Belarus to bring humanitarian aid and their care and love to children in orphanages. Humanitarian aid included products of first need for kids and young adults with disabilities such as: baby products, nappies, vitamins, antibiotics, clothes and toys to help sustain those children.

Usually there is a serious problem in orphanages because there are not enough stuff to care about children.  Nurses of the institutions have their routine and too many kids to care over the year. Therefore when volunteers come they can bring love and joy to those kids who need human kindness the most.

Volunteers of the Chernobyl Children’s Trust together with Buren Chernobyl Project took care of kids from Cherven Orphanage

Chernobyl organizations around Europe were fundraising for renovation works and construction works in orphanages and adult institutions to raise quality of life of those people who are living there. During summer period renovation works wore successfully completed and building are prepared for winter.

Together we were creating hope for many marvellous kids and young adults who have to live in contaminated areas of Ukraine and Belarus. One more summer Chernobyl children had a chance to spend their holidays and get high quality medical service in England, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Poland, and in specially organized camps  for disabled kids in Belarus. Lets bring joy and hope to this world together!
